Justice Obiora Egwuatu of the Federal High Court in Abuja has dismissed a no-case submission filed by former JAMB registrar, Dibu Ojerinde, who is facing an 18-count charge of alleged ₦5.2 billion fraud brought against him by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).
The judge ruled that the ICPC had presented sufficient evidence through its witnesses to warrant Ojerinde entering a defence, having accused him of multiple frauds and abuse of office during his tenure as head of both NECO and JAMB, in violation of various sections of the Corrupt Practices and Advance Fee Fraud Acts.
He therefore adjourned the case to July 16 for the continuation of trial.
