Gov. Bago Pledges N7bn for Road Repairs, N1bn to Flood Victims

Niger State Governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, has announced that the reconstruction of roads and bridges linking Raba and nearby communities to Mokwa town would cost N7 billion, adding that the contract has already been awarded.

While speaking during a visit to victims of the recent flood in Mokwa, which claimed lives and displaced many residents, Governor Bago pledged N1 billion in immediate relief and promised 10 trucks each of rice, beans, maize, millet, and sorghum.

He additionally directed the Ministry for Land and Survey to issue a certificate of occupancy to the federal government to enable swift construction of resettlement homes, assuring that temporary arrangements would prevent prolonged stays in IDP camps.

The governor expressed gratitude to the federal government, donor agencies, and individuals for their support and offered prayers for the deceased.
