The Federal Government has disclosed plans to digitalise the operations of the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development in order to boost productivity, curb corruption, and save time.
The Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr. Ibrahim Kana, speaking at a mid-year workers and stakeholders sensitisation programme in Abuja, explained that staff must embrace digital processes in line with global technological innovation.
He warned that those without computer skills risk being left behind, stressing that a conducive working environment and strong labour collaboration would reflect in the ministry’s overall performance.
Dr. Kana revealed that the government would institutionalise electronic content management and also ruled out the purchase of laptops, noting reports of misuse by some staff who allegedly gave them to family members.
The chairman of the Joint Consultative Negotiating Council, Comrade Hector Nnadi, said the programme aimed at sensitising workers on aligning the minister’s agenda with the ministry’s mandate.
