NSIB Probes Abuja-Kaduna Train Derailment

The Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) says it has begun a probe into the derailment of a Kaduna-bound train, which happened earlier today and left six passengers injured.

The Bureau explained that a go-team had been dispatched to the

accident site at KM 49, between Kubwa and Asham stations, to gather evidence and liaise with stakeholders.

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, who was represented by the Commissioner of Information-designate, Ahmed Maiyaki directed that immediate medical care and psychosocial support be provided for affected passengers.

He appealed for calm and assured that the situation was under control, noting that the state was working closely with federal authorities and security agencies.

The Nigeria Railway Corporation confirmed that the six injured passengers had been treated, while security operatives were deployed to secure the scene and assist stranded travellers.
