In a continued effort to improve education and support grassroots development, Representative of Oyo State House of Assembly Hon. Waheed Akintayo also known as “ILUMOKA” convened an empowerment programme at Community Primary School, Olunde,Ibadan, where he commission newly renovated classrooms on Wednesday 27th August, 2025.
Hon Akintayo, during his address noted that the empowerment and commissioning programme was in continuation of his previous leadership initiatives, including enrolling over 500 residents in health insurance, offering free transport during the COVID-19 pandemic, and donating solar powered streetlights to over 10 communities in Olunde.
In addition to the educational and health intervention over 120 beneficiaries received financial support to promote entrepreneurship and support low-income earners.
Hon Akintayo, who chairs the Assembly’s Committee on Media, ICT, and Public Affairs, also handed over security gadgets to the Vigilante Group of Nigeria in Olunde to boost security of lives and property in the area.
Headmistress of the Community Primary School, Olunde, ibadan while speaking with Wellsradio 89.3FM reporter Adenike Omoyele expressed satisfaction with the improved learning environment, while several beneficiaries also expressed their gratitude for the lawmaker’s continued support.
