Shettima Leads Nigerian Delegation to 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos

Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in Davos, Switzerland, to lead Nigeria’s delegation to the 56th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum holding from January 19 to 23, 2026.
The Vice President arrived from Conakry, Guinea, where he represented President Bola Tinubu at the inauguration of President Mamadi Doumbouya, and was received by the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Investment, alongside officials of Nigeria’s mission in Switzerland.
The 2026 forum marks Nigeria’s first official participation with a dedicated Nigeria House Davos, a sovereign pavilion established through a public-private partnership to serve as a hub for ministerial engagements, investment discussions and cultural diplomacy.
Vice President Shettima is expected to present Nigeria’s 2026 economic outlook during plenary sessions and bilateral meetings with global political and business leaders, focusing on areas such as artificial intelligence, quantum computing and biotechnology in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The Minister of Trade and Investment, Jumoke Oduwole, said Nigeria would use the platform to showcase investment opportunities, explaining that presentations would highlight key sectors including solid minerals, climate sustainability, agriculture, as well as the creative and digital economy, reflecting ongoing efforts to reposition and revitalise the nation’s economy.
