Yusuf Seeks Tinubu’s Support on Kano Security, Development

Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has held a strategic meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, to discuss his administration’s priorities, with a focus on worsening insecurity in parts of the state and the need for stronger federal collaboration.
According to his spokesperson, Sunisu Bature, the governor told the President during a closed-door meeting yesterday about the recent killing of a housewife and her children, stressing that decisive federal support was needed to strengthen security operations and protect residents.
Yusuf also highlighted the role of the Kano State Neighbourhood Watch Corps and called for closer synergy with federal security agencies to enhance intelligence gathering and rapid response.
The governor also outlined Kano’s development agenda, placing emphasis on major infrastructure projects aimed at boosting economic growth.
He reportedly thanked President Tinubu for federal intervention on the Wujuwuju Road, describing it as critical to job creation, and sought support to fast-track other federal projects in the state.
Bature said the President assured Yusuf of the Federal Government’s commitment to partnering with Kano State to tackle insecurity and promote sustainable, inclusive development.
