The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) External results, with more than 80 per cent of candidates recording five credits and above.
The announcement was made on Tuesday in Minna, Niger State, by the Registrar and Chief Executive of NECO, Professor Dantani Wushishi, who said candidates could access their results on the council’s official website using their registration numbers. He disclosed that 96,979 candidates registered for the examination across 16 subjects, out of which 95,160 sat for the tests.
Professor Wushishi said performance was strong, with over 78 per cent scoring credit and above in English Language and more than 91 per cent achieving the same in Mathematics.
He added that over 71 per cent obtained five credits and above including English and Mathematics, while more than 86 per cent achieved five credits regardless of the two core subjects. On examination malpractice, he revealed that over 9,000 candidates were booked for misconduct, marking an increase from the previous year, while some supervisors and centres were recommended for blacklisting and de-recognition over their roles in malpractice.
