US President Donald Trump has threatened legal action against the organisers of the 68th Grammy Awards following remarks by host Trevor Noah linking him to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
During the ceremony, Noah congratulated Billie Eilish on winning Song of the Year before making a joke referencing Trump’s past comments about Greenland and suggesting he needed “a new island” after Epstein’s death, a line that drew immediate backlash.
Reacting on his Truth Social platform, President Trump described the Grammys as unwatchable and dismissed Noah as a “loser,” insisting he had never visited Epstein’s island or been accused of doing so. He accused the comedian of making false and defamatory statements and said his lawyers would pursue legal action.
The president has previously acknowledged moving in similar social circles as Epstein but has offered varying accounts of their fallout, as millions of newly released documents continue to fuel scrutiny of figures linked to the disgraced financier.
