Nigerian fashion designer Ruth Erikan James, popularly known as Veekee James, has announced that she and her husband, Femi Atere, are expecting their first child.

Veekee shared the news on Instagram with a short video featuring her baby bump, coordinated outfits with her husband, and ultrasound images, captioning it, “And two shall become 3. Indeed, this is what only GOD can do.”

Veekee, a celebrated designer known for her luxury bridal and couture creations, launched her fashion brand in 2019 and quickly gained prominence for her sculptural wedding dresses and red-carpet gowns.

Born in Akwa Ibom State and raised in Lagos, she began fashion inspired by her mother’s tailoring and has expanded her brand to include menswear and ready-to-wear lines. Veekee and Atere married in February 2024, and the announcement of their pregnancy has sparked widespread congratulations from fans and colleagues.
