The Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) has placed a lifetime flight ban on a female passenger, Comfort Emmanson, for allegedly assaulting Ibom Air staff on a flight from Uyo to Lagos.
AON spokesperson, Obiora Okonkwo, disclosed that the ban applies to all member airlines, both domestic and international. He warns that anyone who engages in similar conduct will face the same penalty.
The group described the incident as one of the most severe cases of unruly passenger behaviour seen this year. It praised Ibom Air for handling the situation swiftly and professionally.
The Ibom airline earlier announced its own travel restriction on Emmanson after she allegedly attacked crew members upon arrival in Lagos yesterday.
