Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The governor announced his decision in a statewide broadcast today, saying the move was aimed at strengthening collaboration with the Federal Government to advance development in the state.
Mbah expressed appreciation to members of the PDP for their support over the years but noted that his decision was driven by a desire to attract greater federal presence and projects to Enugu State. Political observers say his defection could significantly alter the political landscape in the South-East ahead of the 2027 general elections.
