
The Federal Government has unveiled the Nigeria Virtual Privacy Academy, a nationwide digital learning platform aimed at building capacity in data protection and privacy across public and private sectors.
The launch was announced by the Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. BosunTijani, at the opening of the 8th Annual Conference of the Network of African Data Protection Authorities (NADPA) held in Abuja.
According to Dr. Tijani, the academy forms a crucial pillar in Nigeria’s digital economy strategy, empowering stakeholders with practical knowledge on data governance, digital identity, and cybersecurity.
He emphasized that the academy would enhance public trust in digital platforms by delivering virtual training on key privacy and data handling principles.
The Minister also revealed that the establishment of a Digital Trade Desk, a one-stop resource to help Nigerian tech businesses expand globally and tap into international markets.
