FG Projects Fairly Shared Across Six Zones, Says Information Minister

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has defended the Bola Tinubu administration against allegations of imbalance in the distribution of federal projects, appointments, and opportunities.

He said the government has demonstrated fairness and inclusivity, pointing to data that shows the Northwest as the biggest beneficiary with projects worth N5.97 trillion since Tinubu assumed office in 2023.

Other allocations include N2.41 trillion for the South-South, N1.13 trillion for the North-Central, N604 billion for the Southwest excluding Lagos, N407 billion for the Southeast, and N400 billion for the Northeast.

The minister explained that major infrastructural works such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, the Badagry–Sokoto Superhighway, rail projects in Kano, Kaduna, Lagos and Ogun, as well as rehabilitation of over 1,000 healthcare centres, are spread across the country.

He stressed that the President is building national infrastructure rather than sectional trophies, adding that both roads and power projects, alongside inclusive federal appointments, reflect Tinubu’s commitment to fairness, justice, and balanced national development.
