President Bola Tinubu has summoned meetings of the Council of State and the Police Council for thursday, October 9, 2025, to address the growing insecurity across parts of the country and other key national matters.
According to a statement from the Cabinet Affairs Office signed by Permanent Secretary Dr. Emanso Umobong, the meetings scheduled for 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., respectively will take place at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, with members expected to attend either physically or virtually.
The sessions, chaired by the President, will deliberate on the nation’s security situation, review ongoing military operations, and consider new measures to curb banditry, kidnapping, and communal violence.
President Tinubu led administration, is expected to reinforce intergovernmental cooperation in tackling security challenges and promoting national unity.
