First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to see environmental protection and cleanliness as a collective responsibility, urging greater commitment to clean and sustainable energy.
In a message to commemorate the 2026 International Day of Clean Energy in Abuja, she said the observance was a reminder of the nation’s shared duty to protect and preserve the environment. She encouraged Nigerians to adopt renewable energy and sustainable technologies, describing them as essential for survival, healthy living and responsible environmental stewardship.
She also appealed for collective action to build a greener and healthier planet, while wishing Nigerians a happy International Day of Clean Energy. The day, observed annually on January 26, was proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly to promote awareness and action towards a just and inclusive transition to clean energy for the benefit of people and the planet.
