INEC Announces Restriction of Movement in Ibadan North As Bye-Election Candidates Sign Peace Accord

Five candidates contesting Saturday’s bye-election for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency in Oyo State have signed a peace accord at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) state headquarters in Ibadan.

The signatories are Femi Akin-Alamu (ADC), Adewale Olatunji (APC), Olabisi Odususi (APGA), Fola Oyekunle (PDP), and Hammed Badmus (ZLP).

Oyo REC Tella Adeniran said the accord was crucial to ensuring a peaceful, free, and credible poll, urging candidates and supporters to uphold decorum and sportsmanship.

He announced that there would be a restriction of movement in Ibadan North Federal Constituency from midnight before election day and confirmed that non-sensitive materials for the poll had been received.

Adeniran also urged voters to turn out early, cast their votes peacefully, and shun violence and vote buying.
