The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has introduced a new digital portal designed to streamline issuance of drug-test certificates and visa-clearance certificates, with instant generation of test results and issuance within three days. The portal is part of the agency’s bid to enhance transparency, speed up processing and curb corruption in document acquisition. The platform Drug Integrity Test and Visa E-Administration System was launched today in Abuja by the NDLEA Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Marwa (retd), who described the initiative as “a paradigm shift in our fight against the scourge of substance abuse and illicit drug trafficking.”
NDLEA officials noted that the system will cover both domestic and international travellers, and that the initiative aligns with the government’s drive to digitalize services and improve ease of doing business. They said the platform will reduce the opportunities for illegal issuance of certificates and strengthen oversight of controlled substances.
