Nentawe Yilwatda Emerges As APC National Chairman

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Nentawe Yilwatda, has been elected the new National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress.

His emergence followed a nomination by Governor Hope Uzodimma and a second by House Speaker Abbas Tajudeen during the party’s National Executive Committee meeting held today in Abuja.

Yilwatda, a former Plateau State governorship candidate, replaces Abdullahi Ganduje, who resigned in June citing personal reasons.

He was appointed minister by President Bola Tinubu in late 2023 and now assumes leadership of the ruling party at a time it seeks to consolidate power across key states.

Yilwatda nomination was affirmed through a voice vote by NEC members present at the meeting.
