The Flying Eagles have been handed a daunting test in their quest to progress at the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt as they will face defending champions Senegal in the quarter-final of the tournament next Monday.
The Flying Eagles’quarter-final match will start at 3 pm Egypt time (1 pm Nigeria time) in Ismailia. Nigeria have won the U-20 AFCON seven times and runners-up twice.
Senegal confirmed their spot as Nigeria’s knockout opponents last Thursday after beating Democratic Republic of Congo 2-0 in their last Group C game.
It would be recalled that Nigeria reached the quarter-finals of the championship last Wednesday after an uncompromising 2-2 draw against Kenya in the last match of group B.
