Guinness World Records has officially confirmed that Nigerian chef Hilda Baci is now a three-time record holder after recognising that her largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice also set the record for the largest serving of rice overall.

The announcement was made on Guinness World Records’ official Twitter page today, noting that Baci’s 8,780-kilogram Lagos cookout had earned her the dual recognition.

Reacting to the confirmation, Baci said she was “shocked and happy” to learn that what she initially thought was one record had actually resulted in two titles in a single day.

She added that the latest recognition brought her total Guinness World Records achievements to three, building on her May 2023 record for completing a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon, which had previously made her Nigeria’s first chef to hold multiple Guinness titles.
