Nnaji Defends Resignation, Says It Was Act of Integrity Not Guilt

Former Innovation, Science and Technology Minister, Uche Nnaji, has publicly insisted that his resignation from office does not amount to an admission of wrongdoing, but reflects a commitment to due process and institutional integrity.

Nnaji stepped down amid allegations over the legitimacy of his University of Nigeria, Nsukka degree certificate and his NYSC discharge certificate, claims the university reportedly could not verify.

He argues these accusations are part of a politically motivated smear campaign by his opponents, designed to damage his reputation. He praised President Bola Tinubu for the opportunity to serve, reiterated his loyalty to the administration, and said he would remain deeply grateful even after leaving office.
