NPFL Orders Stadium Upgrades Ahead of 2025/26 Season

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) has directed all clubs to upgrade their home stadium facilities ahead of the 2025/26 season, warning that failure to comply could lead to disqualification from hosting matches.

The league board, in a letter signed by its Chief Operating Officer Davidson Owumi, emphasized that the installation of standard LED floodlights and a reliable backup generator to ensure uninterrupted lighting, are mandatory especially for night games.

This directive follows the conclusion of the 2024/25 season, where Remo Stars secured their first-ever league title, and comes ahead of the new season set to begin in August.

The NPFL reminded clubs that stadiums will undergo inspection and must meet grade A standards.
