PDP Governors Convene Emergency Meeting After Chaotic BoT Meeting

Governors elected under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have scheduled an emergency meeting to hold tomorrow in Asaba, Delta State, to address the deepening crisis within the party.

This follows a chaotic Board of Trustees (BoT) meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, where tensions escalated as supporters of Senator Samuel Anyanwu clashed with former Youth Leader Sunday Ude-Okoye.

Reports indicate that the governors, led by Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed, will discuss several pressing issues, including the ongoing dispute over the National Secretary position.

Acting National Chairman of the party, Umar Damagum, attributed the internal conflict to leaders who should be fostering unity, emphasizing his commitment to ensuring the NEC meeting holds in February.

BoT Chairman Adolphus Wabara expressed displeasure over the leadership turmoil, urging party members to prioritize unity over personal ambition.
