President Bola Tinubu has congratulated three Nigerian students for emerging world champions at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals in London, while also directing the urgent rollout of free healthcare for low-income retirees under the Contributory Pension Scheme.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised the students Nafisa Abdullahi Aminu, Rukayya Muhammad Fema, and Hadiza Kashim Kalli for their outstanding performance in a global competition involving 69 countries, describing them as shining examples of Nigeria’s promising future.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to investing in education, highlighting recent reforms like the Nigerian Education Loan Fund to support indigent students.
At the same time, President Tinubu issued directives to the National Pension Commission to fast-track healthcare access for retirees, implement overdue pension increases, and ensure a minimum pension guarantee for vulnerable pensioners.
He stressed the need to resolve the long-standing police pension issue, affirming that those who serve the nation deserve to retire with dignity.
The President endorsed wider pension reforms, including plans for diaspora participation and measures to protect fund value amid economic challenges. He expressed confidence that both the youth and elderly will benefit from his administration’s push for inclusive growth and social protection.
