President Bola Tinubu is set to depart Abuja today for a state visit to the Republic of Türkiye, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between both countries.
The President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said the visit would focus on deepening ties in areas such as security, education, social development, innovation and aviation, while also serving as a reciprocal gesture following Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s state visit to Nigeria in October 2021.
According to Onanuga, the visit will feature high-level political and diplomatic engagements, the signing of memoranda of understanding across sectors including energy, defence, scientific research, media and technical cooperation, as well as a Nigeria–Türkiye business forum to boost trade and investment.
Members of the delegation include senior government officials and security chiefs, while the President is expected to return to Nigeria at the conclusion of the visit.
