President Bola Tinubu has conferred the national honour of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) on players and officials of the Super Falcons, following their historic victory at the 2025 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
At a special reception held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the President also announced the allocation of three-bedroom apartments in the Renewed Hope Estate, Abuja, to each of the 24 players and 11 technical crew members.
In addition, President Tinubu approved cash rewards equivalent to $100,000 for each player and $50,000 for every member of the technical crew.
The Nigerian Governors Forum, represented by its Chairman and Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman AbdulRazaq, also presented ten million naira to each team member in recognition of their achievement.
The Super Falcons, who arrived at the Presidential Villa today, were received by President Bola Tinubu, the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, and the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, among others.
Recall that Nigeria’s women’s team secured their record-extending 10th WAFCON title last Saturday, defeating host nation Morocco 3–2 after a dramatic comeback from two goals down.
With this latest triumph, the Super Falcons have now won four continental titles in the past decade—2014, 2016, 2018, and 2024—bringing their total to ten WAFCON trophies.
