President Trump Lands in Scotland, Warns Europe on Migration

US President Donald Trump arrived in Scotland on Friday evening for a four-day private visit, beginning at Prestwick Airport before heading to his Turnberry resort in South Ayrshire.

Welcomed by Scottish Secretary Ian Murray and US Ambassador Warren Stephens, President Trump expressed admiration for UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, praising him for securing a long-delayed trade deal, despite noting their political differences.

He also described Scotland’s First Minister John Swinney as a good man and said he looked forward to their meeting on Monday.

Trump is expected to meet Starmer, Swinney, and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen during his visit, which includes golf at Turnberry and the opening of a new course in Aberdeenshire.

Amid tight security and planned protests in Edinburgh and Aberdeen, President Trump reignited criticism of wind farms—claiming they ruin landscapes and oceans—and warned European countries to act decisively on immigration, which he described as an “invasion.”

He claimed the US had curbed illegal entry under his watch and cautioned that unchecked migration could “kill Europe.”
