Shaboozey Wins First Grammy with Jelly Roll

Nigerian-American singer Collins Obinna Chibueze, popularly known as Shaboozey, has won his first Grammy Award at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards held on February 1, 2026, in Los Angeles.

He clinched the Best Country Duo/Group Performance award for Amen, a gospel-inspired country collaboration with Jelly Roll, featured on Jelly Roll’s album.

The win marked a major milestone for the Woodbridge, Virginia-born artiste of Igbo-Nigerian descent and also earned Jelly Roll his first Grammy, highlighting the growing acceptance of genre-blending acts within country music.

Receiving the award during the Grammy Premiere Ceremony, Shaboozey expressed gratitude to God and dedicated the honour to his mother, an immigrant who had just retired from nursing after more than three decades of work.

He extended the dedication to immigrants across the United States, noting that their culture, stories and contributions had enriched the country and helped build it. His emotional acceptance speech drew widespread praise online, while the singer later described the moment as surreal and credited his management teams for their support.
