Super Falcons Eye 10th Title as Nigeria Face Morocco in WAFCON Final

Nigeria will lock horns with hosts Morocco in the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) final today at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, with both teams chasing history.

The Super Falcons are aiming for a record-extending 10th title in what has been dubbed ‘Mission X’, while Morocco hope to become the first North African side to lift the trophy.

Both teams enter the final unbeaten, with Nigeria conceding only once in five matches—via a penalty in their dramatic 2-1 semi-final win over defending champions South Africa.

Defender Michelle Alozie, who scored the late winner, said the team’s focus has always been on going all the way.

Morocco, meanwhile, edged Ghana 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in the other semi-final.

With $1 million and the revamped WAFCON trophy at stake, the match is set to be a defining moment for both teams—and potentially a turning point for the future of women’s football on the continent..
