Super Falcons Face Tough Test Against Zambia in WAFCON Quarter-Final

Nigeria’s Super Falcons is set to keep their title hopes alive today as they clash with Zambia in the first quarter-final of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.

The high-stakes encounter is set for the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca, where the Falcons remain after finishing top of their group with seven points.

Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre, named in CAF’s team of the group stage, says the team is focused and prepared.

The winner of today’s clash will face either defending champions South Africa or Senegal in the semi-finals next Tuesday.

Led by coach Justine Madugu, Nigeria opened this year’s campaign with a 3-0 win over Tunisia, edged Botswana 1-0, and wrapped up the group stage with a goalless draw against Algeria. Though they’re yet to concede a goal, concerns remain over the team’s attacking sharpness.
