The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced today that its tower T195 along the Ugwuaji-Makurdi 330kV transmission line was targeted by vandals on Saturday.
The incident occurred at Watuolo village in Utonkon, Ado Local Government Area, Benue State.
TCN’s General Manager for Public Affairs, Mrs. Ndidi Mbah, praised the vigilance of the local community, who apprehended one suspect at around 3 am, while others managed to escape.
Mbah commended the residents for their swift action and urged other communities hosting critical infrastructure to follow their example in protecting such installations.
She emphasized the importance of continued cooperation with security forces and the vigilance of local residents in the fight against vandalism.
