President Bola Tinubu authorised a personnel audit and skills gap analysis across the Federal Civil Service to deepen the capacity of federal workers in the country.
The President emphasized that Nigeria could only guarantee the high-performance culture it deserves by placing the right people in the right roles. He urged relevant stakeholders to ensure the timely completion of the exercise so that the implementation of targeted reforms and the realization of full benefits to improve the civil service can begin.
Tinubu noted that innovation is vital to making the Nigerian civil service globally competitive to meet the needs of today and the future.
In thesame vein, the Presidency announced the historic appointment of Ms Grace Morenike Henry as the new Chairman of the National Council of the Nigerian Legion.
The appointment, approved by President Bola Tinubu, marks a significant milestone as Ms Henry becomes the first female and first non-commissioned officer to assume the leadership of Nigeria’s foremost veterans’ organization.
The spokesperson for the Nigerian Legion, Abdul Lauya, revealed the information in a press statement made available to newsmen yesterday. He said that the appointment, conveyed through a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, takes effect from June 7, 2025.
