Japan Airlines To Buy 17 More Boeing 737-8s

Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced plans to purchase 17 additional Boeing 737-8 aircraft, expanding on its 2023 order of 21 jets to modernize its domestic fleet.

The airline also revealed plans to introduce 11 Airbus A321neo aircraft to replace aging Boeing 767s operating from Haneda Airport.

For international routes, JAL will add 10 Boeing 787-9 aircraft and 20 Airbus A350-900 planes, signaling a major fleet upgrade.

The move aligns with JAL’s strategy to enhance efficiency and sustainability across both domestic and international operations.
