President Bola Tinubu has appointed new members for the governing councils of the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA), University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), and Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU), Awka.
Recall that in February, Tinubu dissolved the governing council of the University of Abuja and dismissed the university’s vice-chancellor, Aisha Maikudi, amid controversy over her eligibility.
According to a press statement signed by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the new governing council members for UNIABUJA include Prof. Rosemary Iriowen Egonmwan, Dr. Adedeji Adefuye, Prof. Sarki Abba Abdulkadir, and Prof. Aminu Mohammed Dukku.
The members appointed for UNN include Ogbonna Eugene Odo and Muhammad Inuwa Tahir, while the new governing council members for NAU include Dr. Nkem Okeke, Ofoke Chukwuma Charles Ugbala, Dame Amina Patrick Yakowa, and Nojeeb Oriola Agunbiade.
