Senate President Godswill Akpabio has commended President Bola Tinubu for signing into law the bills establishing three key tertiary institutions in the South-East, the Federal University in Okigwe, Imo State, and both the Federal College of Education and the Federal University of Medical and Health Sciences in Bende, Abia State.
He praised the move as a major step toward addressing the educational and healthcare needs of the region.
In a statement by his media adviser, Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio also hailed lawmakers including Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu and Senators Patrick Ndubueze, Onyekachi Nwebonyi, and Osita Ngwu for sponsoring and supporting the bills.
He urged the Igbo community to align with President Tinubu Renewed Hope Agenda, assuring that sustained support would attract greater development and reduce feelings of marginalization in the region.
