The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), today announced results of the Chairmanship and councillorship election which held yesterday across the 33 local government areas of the State.
The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the State won all Chairmanship seats in the 33 Local Government areas in the state.
OYSIEC Chairman, Aare Isiaka Olagunju (SAN), in his remarks commended the governor, officials of OYSIEC as well the political parties under the umbrella of The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) for their efforts in ensuring a successful election.
He acknowledged that the election was not perfect, but promised to make changes.
Meanwhile, members of the opposition APC had in a press release signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary described the just concluded elections as a sham, fraught with many irregularities.
Recall that Wellsradio 89.3FM reporters who monitored the elections reported cases of non-availability of electoral officers, incomplete voting materials, as well as voter apathy, as factor that affected the elections.
